I recently read an article about top 10 ice cream spots in the country. I had been to 2 of them (Jenni's and Graeter's) and read in the comments that this place was supposed to be awesome too. Meh. I've experienced better. lol What I had was just ok, probably a 2.5 but my boyfriend HATED it and wasn't a big fan of his toasted coconut. We have been going to spots in St. Igance, mostly Jilbert's.

Great selection of good ice creams. Salted Carmel was great. Kilwin's mud was even better. Price was a little high but servings were large.

We came right as they were closing and the staff just gave us funny looks until we bought some fudge and left. While I'm sure they wanted us to get out of there so they could all go home, it made me not really leave with the best taste in my mouth.. Even with the fudge. If ever come back I promise to arrive during more regular business hours.

The candy, toppings and specialty items make for a nice shopping experience, but the ice cream is on the good side of mediocre. They should study Graeters very closely if they want to be a top quality ice cream purveyor. Their selection of locations is great.

We stopped in. Got a treat and the store was nice and clean and the people were friendly.

Forget the fudge this is an ice cream town and Kilwins makes some good ice cream. The girl at the counter said cake batter and strawberry chunk were her favorite flavors but she's 18. Our more mature palets thought the coconut, which is really rich vanilla loaded with toasted coconut and chocolate chunks, the maple nut and chocolate were amazing. Kilwins makes their own ice cream so the only way you are going to get it is to go there.
